Alternatives to Raw When on Holiday
We would paws down recommend raw feeding your dog. But we also realise that a raw diet isn’t the easiest if you are going on holiday and won't have access to a freezer. And with 2020 being the year of the staycation and UK-based holidays, we’ve been thinking of the best ways round the raw-feeding-whilst-on-holiday dilemma.
If you are going somewhere with a large freezer, no problem at all. But if you’re going camping, for example, or your pooch is going to a dog sitter with no freezer, there’s no way you can take your doggy’s usual supply of tasty tucker. So we’re suggesting a short-term but equally healthy and wholesome alternative: Billy + Margot wet and dry food. We even have the paw of approval from Benyfit Natural’s chief raw taster in residence, Woody. He always takes Billy + Margot with him on his camping expeditions and he LOVES it.
Billy + Margot wet food comes steamed in pouches or cooked in tins and is easy to take with you wherever you are holidaying. All recipes have been expertly created to be nutritionally balanced and complete. The grain-free meals are filled with high-quality, tasty meat which has the texture and flavour of the real meat or poultry you’re used to seeing in your raw food.
Your woof will love the tins and pouches as they are, but you could also mix it up with some Billy + Margot dried food. It will enhance your dog’s nutrition even further as well as adding an extra level of enjoyment. Also grain-free and with a superfood blend for optimum nutrition, the dried range can be served on its own – we love sprinkling it in the grass for our dogs to search out.
Most dogs love a variety of animal proteins and it’s important to offer them a diverse selection. That’s why the Billy + Margot wet food range includes different animal proteins, either fresh or raw beef, lamb, wild venison, wild boar, wild kangaroo and chicken. It’s the number one ingredient in all recipes. And it is mixed with carefully selected natural ingredients like sweet potatoes, peas, carrots and blueberries, and nutrient-dense superfoods such as coconut oil, flaxseeds and manuka honey. Wholesome, natural and 100% delicious.
If you’re planning to temporarily change your dog’s diet from raw, we’d always recommend introducing new food over a period of a few days, so your dog’s digestive system gets used to it.
Wherever you and your furries are holidaying this year, you can be safe in the knowledge that their healthy and nutritious diet isn’t getting interrupted. And don’t forget when you’re out and about that your woof will enjoy a tasty frozen Iced Treat too – look out for them in shops!
