Benyfit Natural celebrates National Rescue Dog Day by Volunteering at Dog’s Trust Rehoming Centre

National Rescue Dog Day aims to shine a light on all the loving and amazing dogs in need of furever homes. The Team at Benyfit Natural had the privilege of volunteering at our most local Rehoming Centre Dog’s Trust Shoreham.

Rehoming Centres are best known for providing care to homeless pets, but they do much more than just offer abandoned animals a place to sleep. They reunite families and rehabilitate sick, injured, and abused animals.

Our day started with a tour around the rehoming centre, being shown the many dogs looking for their forever homes. Currently, Dog’s Trust Shoreham has 22 dogs in need of loving homes.

It was a busy day, from making snuffle mats for enrichment to painting kennel fences and filling enrichment boxes with Benyfit Bites, not to mention meeting some furry friends along the way.

At the end of the day, we had the pleasure of meeting adorable senior Labradoodles Molly and Wilf (Brother and Sister). The pair were both very gentle-natured and were happy to see us for lots of cuddles. Molly knew a few basic commands such as ‘sit’, ‘speak’, and ‘high five’ and liked to show these off for an extra-tasty treat which of course was our very own Benyfit Bites!

Dog’s Trust Shoreham wouldn't be able to function without the help of the compassionate volunteers and staff who bring their mission to life. The level of care and hard work that goes into caring for and finding loving homes for each and every dog was truly inspiring.

It was a great way for the Team to see the behind-the-scenes of all the work that goes on from the staff and volunteers to look after the dogs and find them their forever homes.

There is a rescue dog out there for everyone, whether you’re looking for a younger athletic dog or would prefer the calmness of a senior companion like Molly and Wilf.
